The Danube Duck

A Danube duck, a drake, stands facing the viewer directly on the riverbank. The bird is positioned centrally in the image, gazing at the viewer in an almost confrontational manner. The duck is rendered in rich, dark tones — deep brown across the breast, a shimmering dark green-blue on the head, and a bright yellow bill as a striking colour contrast. Particularly eye-catching are the intensely red, almost glowing feet. Thanks to the metallic acrylic paints, the head and water appear vibrant and subtly shimmering, as if the light of the Danube itself were reflected within them.
